I would just like to say that I am quite impressed with the young lady that assisted me in getting my disability started. She was polite, helped with every questions, and processed my request promptly. I applied in Jan and received all my benefits by May. I only applied one time. I truly believe that if you get ready on your end, don't play games, be honest, and get the information they request, it will go well for you. Please remember, this is a large agency, the people that work there have large case loads, but I believe they want to help us. Go into this entire process with a good attitude and maybe your situation will go as well as mine did. Thank you from my heart for all your help.

Extremely short office hours... no local phone number given and the national phone number is an automated disaster. First time I tried it, I was told to expect a one hour wait. Second time I was told that they were too busy and I'd have to call back some other time... but to remember that they are busiest at the beginning of a month and the beginning of the week... I was calling at the end of the month and the middle of the week. Are you still using the government shutdown for your excuses? - pretty obvious that nobody is going to read this but other frustrated citizens.

FYI When you call ask your agent for their name. If the name given is Crystal,please ask for another agent. She is rude and extremely unprofessional.
